Openings & Closings

Seasonal opening and closing support for pools we have built, timed to the Ontario season in ON L6L 6M3.

Want your opening or closing booked ahead of the season? Reach out early to get a slot.

What this covers

Spring opening and fall closing

Designed to help prepare the pool for the season change — never a guarantee against weather or equipment wear.

For pools we have built, we offer seasonal opening and closing visits arranged directly with clients, the same way maintenance visits are. A spring opening is intended to help bring the pool back into service after winter; a fall closing is intended to help reduce the risk of freeze damage over the Ontario winter. Scope and cost are confirmed with each client individually and are not part of the three priced packages on the Services page.

Seasonal timeline

When each visit happens

Weather dependent, with a realistic window either side.

Spring opening

Typically scheduled once overnight temperatures are reliably above freezing. A visit is designed to help remove winter covers, restart circulation equipment and bring water chemistry back into range before regular use.

Fall closing

Scheduled before the first hard freeze. A visit is intended to help lower water levels appropriately, winterize plumbing lines and fit a secure winter cover to reduce the risk of freeze-related damage.

What this is not

Honest limits

Weather and age of equipment are outside our control.

Not a guarantee against freeze damage — closing work is intended to reduce risk, not eliminate it.

Not offered for pools we did not build, at this time.

Not a substitute for checking the cover periodically during winter.

Not scheduled same-week in peak season — booking ahead is recommended.

How to book

Three steps

Earlier requests get first pick of the seasonal schedule.

1

Reach out ahead of season

Message or call a few weeks before the expected weather change.

2

Confirm a window

We confirm a likely visit window, adjusted as the forecast firms up.

3

Visit & notes

The technician completes the visit and leaves written notes on cover condition and water chemistry.

Reading the forecast

Why exact dates aren't promised

Ontario shoulder seasons vary year to year, and a fixed calendar date would be dishonest.

A spring opening booked for the first week of a mild April can need to move if overnight frost returns, and a fall closing planned for mid-October can get pulled forward if an early cold snap is forecast. We track the weather for every client on the seasonal list and reach out to confirm or adjust the window as the date approaches, rather than locking in a single day months ahead and hoping the weather cooperates.

Clients who book early are given priority as the window firms up, which is why we recommend reaching out a few weeks ahead of the expected change rather than waiting until the first warm or cold day actually arrives.

Covers and equipment

A closing visit also includes a check of the winter cover itself — straps, clips and anchor points are inspected and tightened where needed, since a loose cover does more harm over a Canadian winter than no cover fitted correctly in the first place. If a cover is showing wear, we will flag it during the visit rather than wait for a spring surprise, so replacement can be planned ahead of the next closing season.
